RGD Design Educator Conference: Call for Abstracts

May 23, 2014 / By aigaeducators

In partnership with Centennial College, RGD (association of registered graphic designers) invites you to consider the future of Design Education at our 2nd annual Design Educators Conference on Saturday, November 8 in Toronto.

This year, we explore “Colouring Outside The Lines: Teaching for the future to meet the changing needs of industry.” The Design Educators Conference invites you to investigate fresh academic approaches to design education.

The conference is divided into three themes: Connect, Reflect and Project. Keynote speakers for the conference will be Ellen Lupton and Annette Diefenthaler of IDEO, along with selected 20-minute contributions from design educators and panel discussions.

We are now accepting proposals for the 20-minute presentations in the form of 750-word abstracts with supporting images. The deadline to submit is June 6. For more information, go to http://www.rgd.ca/2014/02/25/call-for-proposals-for-design-educators-conference-2014.php

Selected presenters will receive free attendance to the Educators Conference as well as DesignThinkers 2014 Nov 6-7 with speakers who include Irma Boom, Aaron Draplin, Karen McGrane, Debbie Millman, Paula Scher, Erik Spiekermann and Jessica Walsh. Details at http://www.designthinkers.com
