Have you ever wondered how your salary, tenure or promotion process, job security, teaching load, class size, mandatory office hours, administrative service requirements, or financial support and expectations of design research compares to faculty working at other colleges? We wondered it too! Knowing the details and factors governing the employment of design faculty helps design educators, departments and institutions make informed decisions about the future and direction of the communication design field. This first annual Design Incubation Faculty Census will begin the process of gathering information about employment trends affecting design faculty across the U.S.
