Call for new Design Educator Steering Committee Members

AIGA seeks active, dedicated educators and practitioners to provide service and leadership on its Design Educators Community Steering Committee. Nominations are now being accepted for three-year positions starting August 1, 2014. The committee seeks two new members. Minimum qualification for consideration to AIGA’s Design Educators Steering Committee is experience teaching visual communication or graphic design, or a related field of study, at the college or university level. All applicants must be current AIGA members. Candidates with experience in local chapter board leadership or committee service are encouraged to apply. Committee members meet once a month for a conference call and annually for a retreat, which typically takes place at the fall AIGA Design Educators conference or the biennial AIGA national conference. Members are expected to participate in ongoing DEC projects, to further existing initiatives, or to begin new initiatives that will benefit the Design Educators Community.

To apply, complete the application and email to Members will be selected in order to represent a range of geographic locations, institutions and programs while identifying those best able to contribute to our mission. Applications are due May 23, 2014 and notification of results will be sent in July.
